The CHILDLINE INDIA FOUNDATION (CIF) has initiated a Child Abuse Awareness Programme in an attempt to create awareness among the children towards safety from physical abuse and help children protect themselves. The School witnessed an interactive session with representatives from Young Indians (Yi), an initiative of Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) who visited the school to conduct the session for students of Grades 2 to 6.
The programme is aimed at helping prevent child abuse and encourage children to report such incidents to a trusted adult. The session included the special screening of the animated movie, ‘Komal’ that threw light upon concepts of safe touch, unsafe touch and personal safety rules.
The film recently won India’s National Film Award in the Best Educational Film Category. The screening was followed by an interactive session between the students and the Yi volunteers who answered the queries of children and informed them of the Children Helpline as well.
