The Billabong High International, Bhopal Middle School curriculum is aligned to the directives of the prescribed Board with reference to the aims and objectives, the base content, the structure of curriculum and the prescribed system of evaluation. This thought creates the foundation for every stride that BHIS takes while designing the learning experiences for its students. Thus, a methodical approach towards each component crafts an efficient, effective curriculum which very unpretentiously weaves the lofty yet practical goals of education into every explicit and implicit program, such that children see learning areas and subjects as vehicles for understanding the world in which they live - a world which then becomes challenging and worth exploring.

Teaching Methodology

Beyond Academics

The educational tours are conducted every year. The destinations will be selected keeping in mind the Curriculum topics covered in the respective grades. Keeping the holistic growth of the child in mind, we have an activity oriented curriculum which takes every child on an exciting voyage of self-discovery taking learning beyond the classroom.

‘Culminating activity’ conducted at the end of a volume, provides platform to showcase what and how the learner has progressed in the three main areas of Intellect, Attitude and Ability through the varied subjects.

Skill Observation and Assessment

Assessment is the process of gathering and analyzing information about children to understand the teaching – learning style. At middle school level we have assessment in three forms continuous, comprehensive and evaluation. A combination of formative and summative is used, Formative assessment, including analytical testing, is a range of formal and informal assessment procedures conducted by teachers during the learning process in order to modify teaching and learning activities to improve student attainment. Summative assessment refers to the assessment of Students where the focus is on the outcome of a program.

Field Trips

Keeping the holistic growth of the child in mind, we have an activity oriented curriculum which takes every child on an exciting voyage of self-discovery taking learning beyond the classroom.

The field trips make learning enriching, thereby providing a skill based foundation where in the students are exposed to the real life scenario. This facilitates them to see, understand and grasp the facts and concepts taught in a classroom.
